Taekwondo gold in UK Masters Open
 
Maltese National team athlete and MTF technical director Master Christopher Vella who has recently been promoted to 6th Dan Black Belt level, has achieved gold medal in the Master’s 1 category at the 2010 British Masters Poomsae Championships held in Crawley on Saturday 20th February 2010.
Master Vella competed against Masters hailing from the UK including a British Master who has recently reached second place in the British national championship.
 
Master Vella was coached by Instructor Mr Stephen Formosa at this event.
 
This is Master’s Vella first of a series of competitive events leading him to participate in the European Taekwondo Poomsae Championships which are expected to be held towards the end of this year
 
At the beginning of this year the Malta Taekwondo Federation have also setup and boosted the existing National team with athletes in both Poomsae & Kyurugi in all competitive categories to participate in International Class A level championships.
